Mimarları Tralles’li(Aydın) ve Miletos’lu(Balat) Isidoros’tur. Yapımına 532 yılında başlanmıştır ve 537’de törenle açılmıştır. Doğu Roma İmparatorluğu boyunca hükümdarların taç giydiği, başkentin en büyük kilisesidir.

According to a rumor, they say that your wishes will be accepted under the central dome of Hagia Sophia. Make sure you wish when you go. It is not possible not to fall in love with this structure that fascinates us with its magnificence. With its rich history, religious importance, dome, marble columns and unique mosaics that resist centuries, it is undoubtedly one of the masterpieces of architectural history. Its architects are Isidoros with Tralles (Aydın) and Miletos (Balat). Its construction started in 532 and was opened with a ceremony in 537. It is the capital’s largest church, crowned by monarchs throughout the Eastern Roman Empire.
