Mozaiklerle kaplı ana girişin altındaki kapıda yer alan kitabede binanın hem tarihinden hem de güzelliğinden bahsedilir. İstanbul Arkeoloji Müzesi kompleksinin en eski binası olan Çinili Köşk 1472 yılında Fatih Sultan Mehmet tarafından inşa ettirilmiştir. İçini ve dışını süsleyen harikulade çiniler sebebiyle “Kasr-ı Kaşi” veya “Sırça Saray” olarak da bilinen Çinili Köşk’te Selçuklu ve Osmanlı Dönemi’ne ait çinilerin en güzel örnekleri sergilenmektedir.

Both the history and the beauty of the building are mentioned in the inscription on the door under the main entrance covered with mosaics. Tiled Kiosk, the oldest building of the Istanbul Archeology Museum complex, was built in 1472 by Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Due to the wonderful tiles that adorn the interior and exterior, the best examples of tiles from the Seljuk and Ottoman Period are exhibited in the Tiled Kiosk, also known as “Kasr-ı Kaşi” or “Sırça Saray”.
