SİDE APOLLON TAPINAĞI

Antik Side’nin Sütunlu Caddesinin sonunda yer alan meydanda bulunan Apollon Tapınağı adını ışık, güzellik ve sanat tanrısı olarak bilinen Side kentinin baş tanrılarından olan Apollon’dan almıştır. Bizans bazilikasının tam ortasında kalan Apollon Tapınağı’nın bir kısmı bazilika yapımında kullanılmak için sökülmüştür. Yapımı M.S 150 yıllarına dayanan Apollon Tapınağı’nın günümüzde büyük sütunlarından bazıları restore edilip yerlerine konulmuştur. Side’de deniz kenarında yer alır ve tarihi kalıntılarıyla gerçekten görülmeye değer bir mirastır.

The Temple of Apollo, located in the square located at the end of the Columned Street of Ancient Side, was named after Apollon, one of the chief gods of the city of Side, known as the god of light, beauty and art. Part of the Temple of Apollo, which is located in the middle of the Byzantine basilica, was dismantled for use in the construction of the basilica. Some of the large columns of the Temple of Apollo, which dates back to 150 AD, have been restored and replaced. It is located by the sea in Side and is a legacy worth seeing with its historical ruins.
