Mimar Sinan’ın bu çeşmenin yerinde ustalarla istişare ettiği, işçilere yevmiye dağıttığı ve arada sırada bir oraya oturup sakallarını ovuşturarak camii inşaatını seyrettiği söylenir.
İSTANBUL ÜNİVERSİTESİ FEN FAKÜLTESİ BİYOLOJİ BÖLÜMÜ BİNASI(Çeşmenin arkasında gördüğünüz yapı)
Kemerlerin yapının tasarımıyla bütünleştiği takdirde yapıya zariflik kattığını düşünüyorum.

It is said that Mimar Sinan consulted the fountain with the masters on the spot, distributed the workers to casual wages and occasionally sit there and rub their beards and watch the construction of the mosque.
